Innovation in Programme Management

An impact evaluation of the Rural Economy and Land Use Programme, commissioned by the Economic and Social Research Council concluded that Relu’s impact generation was “substantial and significant” and that the programme “constitutes a benchmark, a new ‘standard’ in impact-generation from which others in the future can learn and toward which they can strive”.

The report, carried out by Dr Laura Meagher and the Technology Development Group in June 2012 found that two of the key legacies created by the Relu programme included ‘growth of acceptance of interdisciplinarity in policy-relevant research’ and ‘a shift from a model of “Knowledge Transfer” to two-way “Knowledge Exchange”.

• Relu Innovation in interdisciplinarity

• Relu innovation in knowledge exchange
